“Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.”” John 6:29 NLT
This response from Jesus came to a crowd that just wanted to see more miracles, they only wanted the supernatural advantage He could give them and He said,
“…you haven’t believed in me even though you have seen me.” John 6:36 NLT
To believe in Jesus is to prayerfully cling to Him, to trust in Him, to rely on Him in everything. It’s an intimate day by day, moment by moment relationship. Everything good and true and purposeful comes from believing in Him: transformed thinking, identity, mission, wisdom, discernment, strength, freedom from the past and assurance for my future! If I only look to Jesus for entertainment value or for what I want, I might walk away when I don’t think He’s giving me what I think I need. But if I would focus on the work of trusting and relying on Him whatever, because He does know what I need better that I do, then God WILL lead me and He WILL take care of everything else 🙏🏼🙌🏼
