“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”” Matthew 9:36-38 NLT
It is so true that we pray more for the harvest, we focus on praying for those who don’t yet know Jesus, and that’s ok, but Jesus said it’s not the harvest that is the issue, it’s having the workers who will go and reap the harvest, it’s having the people who will commit to telling people about Him and give their time and energy to making disciples and training them in everything Jesus commanded. He knows tho that when we start praying for more workers, something starts to change in our hearts and as we become more aware of His call, ‘Who shall I send?’ our hearts begin to respond, ‘Send me!’ Lord, send more workers for sure, we need them desperately! But may the same compassion you showed the confused and helpless also consume me and stir me to action too! Amen 🙏🏼
