“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” Philippians 4:4-5 NIV
To rejoice means to be happy or pleased about something, to express delight and celebration. Now we can’t always rejoice in our circumstances and we’ll often not feel like rejoicing at all, but we can always rejoice…in the Lord; that He IS near, that He understands, that He WILL get me through this! In fact it’s not just a case of we can, the truth is that we must rejoice – joy in the Lord is our strength, joy in the Lord is what will bring us peace. Rejoicing in the Lord is not something I only do when all is good and I feel great, it’s what I need to do always so that my feelings don’t become my master. Regardless of anything else I feel, Jesus IS Lord of my life so I WILL rejoice in Him! Lord, thank You for always being with me, now may my gentleness be evident to all. Fill me with Your joy. Amen 🙌🏼
