“You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!” Psalms‬ ‭30:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Mourning is grieving, it’s the deep sadness experienced at the loss of something, whether that be a person who’s died, a relationship lost, health that has deteriorated or something else. Mourning is a natural process we need to move through to deal with loss, but it’s not meant to be the place where we live long term. Many of the Psalms remind us that God is able to restore us, to help us find joy again as we look to Him, as we realise His presence with us and discover that there is a new day beyond the dark night of the soul. Lord, would you clothe me with joy today and fill my heart with a renewed sense of wonder and praise. Amen 🙏🏼
