“Why are you cast down, O my inner self? And why should you moan over me and be disquieted within me? Hope in God and wait expectantly for Him, for I shall yet praise Him, my Help and my God.” Psalm 42:5 AMPC
We can spend far too much time listening to ourselves (allowing the negative thoughts and feelings to rule) when, like the Psalmist, the more helpful thing would be talking to ourselves and determining a different outlook! I’ve had the words of a great hymn on my mind since Sunday and I’ve been speaking it to myself, ‘Praise, my soul, the King of Heaven, to His feet thy tribute bring. Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, who like thee His praise should sing. Praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise Him, praise the everlasting King.’
When I choose to focus on King Jesus, with His name as the guard on my heart and on my lips it changes the inner self! There is power in His name 🙌🏼
