Tranquil, undisturbed lives // 13-12-19

“Most of all, I’m writing to encourage you to pray with gratitude to God. Pray for all men with all forms of prayers and requests as you intercede with intense passion. And pray for every political leader and representative, so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Today, in the wake of the election result, some of us will be relieved, others of us disappointed. The temptation will be to gloat or to moan and despair, with the risk of even more division and hostility! But what if we prayed instead? Let’s pray for our political leaders who have a seemingly impossible task ahead of them, let’s pray for our nation, for peace and goodwill to prevail. Let’s focus on what we can be grateful for, and be thankful that ultimately our lives are in God’s hands. Let’s ‘intercede with intense passion’ and, as Christians, show that in Christ unity is possible even if we disagree on some things. Now is the opportunity to make a real difference, to be kind, to show compassion, to live ‘tranquil, undisturbed lives’ as we love God and love our neighbours! Let’s show the best of what it means to be a Christian today!! ❤️

Really hope you can make the prayer meeting tomorrow (14th) 9am at Tredworth. No better or more important time to get together and pray than now!! 🙏🏼
