“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.” Romans 8:11-12 NLT
Just because I have an urge to do something, just because I think or feel a certain thing, it does not mean that I have to act on it and do it! Always ask the question first, ‘Will this draw me closer to God and build my faith or take me away from Him?’ Because I do have a sinful nature that wants what it thinks it wants, but as a Christian, I also have the Spirit of God living in me too. These will be at odds with each other, and the question is who am I going to follow? My own thoughts, feelings, urges or cravings rarely take me to good places, and it is because people feel obligated to them that they end up addicted and afflicted. Much better to trust that God knows me best and loves me the most and to follow His leading which always takes me in the direction of life and peace! Spirit of God fill me today, more of you Jesus and less of me 🙏🏼
