“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.” John‬ ‭13:34-35‬ ‭NLT‬‬

My challenge at the start of this year is to be more than just a believer in Jesus but to be a disciple of Jesus. That means taking His words seriously, becoming more like Him and obeying His commands, the greatest of which is to love; to seek the best for another, to do the right thing regardless of person or situation, to put the welfare of another before my own! That’s the radical, selfless love that Jesus showed me and He now commands me to show that same love to others. This is not a love driven by feelings but by obedience. It’s not how much I know, or how much stuff I religiously do that makes me a disciple of Jesus, It’s how much I actually love! And my family of faith is where I start, that’s my training ground, in order that I might go strong in love into the world! Lord, help me to love You by being present, willing and available enough to practice loving others. May my words and actions all be infused with Your love this week. Amen 🙏🏼❤️
