It’s dynamite // 30-04-20

“The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The word power there in Greek is dynamis! It’s where we get the word dynamite from and it literally means, the state of that which is not yet fully realised – power, potentiality! As Christians we literally carry dynamite around with us, a message of power with the potential to save, but we need to use it so that people get to see it! At Pentecost the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit, and we read that what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them! It was like God lit the fuse wire and as they opened their mouths the gospel exploded and thousands were saved! Lord, fill me afresh with your Holy Spirit today, help me to fan aflame the gift within me that my words might be ignited. And as I tell people about You may I see Your power at work. Amen 🔥
