What does the Lord require of you? // 02-06-20

“He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you. Except to be just, and to love [and to diligently practice] kindness (compassion), And to walk humbly with your God [setting aside any overblown sense of importance or self-righteousness]?” Micah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Watching the news at the moment, I am reminded again how much injustice and inequality there is in our world, and how impotent I feel when it comes to doing anything about it! On Sunday I was quoting King Jehoshaphat, “We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12. It’s only as we humbly come before God and behold Him that we see more clearly; only as we become more like Jesus that we can truly be the answer to this broken world. Lord, help me to live for justice, to practice kindness and compassion, to do what You require for Your Kingdom to come and Your will to be done! Help me to be the difference that I want to see in this world, with a right sense of who I am and a better understanding of how much You love every one of us. Amen 🙏🏼🙌🏼
