The Bible is clear that God opposes the proud. It was the downfall of Satan and it caused the fall of man, because pride, just like the word that describes it, has ‘I’ right at the heart of it! ‘I know best, I can make my own decisions, I don’t need God’s wisdom and God’s help, I can do it myself!’ It’s the sin that separates and sets us against God! And yet relationship with Him is exactly what we need the most! It takes humility to admit that, it takes humility to turn to Him, it takes humility to trust Him and to receive His mercy and grace. But when we do, we connect with the One who made the universe and who bought us salvation. We find the peace of forgiveness, and there is a healing impact on the world around us!
