“But the father called to his servants. ‘Hurry!’ he said. ‘Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and shoes on his feet. Then go and get the prize calf and kill it, and let us celebrate with a feast! For this son of mine was dead, but now he is alive; he was lost, but now he has been found.’ And so the feasting began.” Luke 15:22-24 GNT
The story of the prodigal son is one of the most well known of Jesus’ parables. The son in the story is us; selfish, wasteful and unappreciative when it comes to the love of Father God, wanting to live independently of Him, but realising that without Him life is not all that we wanted. The son deserved nothing, he had already squandered what he had been given, but when he returns home expecting to be judged and disgraced, instead he is surprised by grace! Jesus was giving us an insight into what God is really like, watching and waiting with arms open wide, ready to welcome the lost home when we turn to Him. Wow! Thank You Lord for loving me that much 👍🏼❤️
