“But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.” And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”” Luke 23:40-43 NLT
The thief hanging on the cross next to Jesus could not save himself, he was out of chances and out of time. He was never going to study scripture, never go to church, never make amends to those he had wronged and yet in turning to Jesus, God rescued him from darkness and transferred him into the Kingdom of light! As one person put it, ‘It was another shocking reminder that grace does not depend on what we have done for God, but rather what God has done for us!’ Lord, thank You for remembering me. May I be a compelling witness today to Your great mercy and grace. Amen 🙏🏼
