Prepare the way // 30-11-20

“Isaiah had spoken of John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!” Luke‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The arrival of Jesus on the earth had been prophesied hundreds of years before he was actually born, but God’s promise was fulfilled at just the right time, and the way of salvation was clearly shown to us! His promise to return one day will also be fulfilled because God always keeps His promises! We don’t know how long we will have to wait, but this time of Advent reminds us that we can have confidence as we wait in expectancy, celebrating His birth and remembering what Jesus achieved the first time He came, whilst looking forward to what will happen when He comes back!

For lo, the days are hast’ning on, by prophet bards foretold,
When with the ever circling years comes round the age of gold,
When peace shall over all the earth its ancient splendor fling,
And the whole world give back the song which now the angels sing.
(It came upon a midnight clear)
