“One thing I have asked of the LORD, and that I will seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD [in His presence] all the days of my life, To gaze upon the beauty [the delightful loveliness and majestic grandeur] of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.” Psalms 27:4 AMP
If you could ask God for one thing, or had to prioritise one thing in your life, what would it be? Here the Psalmist zooms in on the idea that spending time with God, and keeping our eyes on Him, is better than anything else! The rest of the Psalm explains why this is so important, because that’s where I find salvation, that’s where I’m lifted up, that’s where I get answers and help, courage and strength. No matter what this world throws at me, or who might come against me, when I dwell with God, in continual relationship with Him, then there is no need to fear or dread! Lord Jesus, thank You for being my refuge, thank You for making a way so that I can walk with You and talk with You and have that assurance that I will see Your goodness. As I spend time with You today, lead me. Amen 🙏🏼
