“I cry out to the Lord; I plead for the Lord’s mercy. I pour out my complaints before him and tell him all my troubles.” Psalms 142:1-2 NLT
Being a Christian doesn’t immunise you from difficult and testing times, and mental distress and even mental illness is very common, even for those of us with faith! 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England. 1 in 6 report a common mental health problem like anxiety or depression in any given week in England. If that resonates I can guarantee you are not the only one struggling right now and it’s ok to talk about these things – in fact it’s vital that we do! Sometimes just being able to share our struggles can break the paralysing power of those thoughts and feelings, as well as relieving the isolation that comes from believing it’s just me! And the best place to start is by talking to God – pour out your heart to Him, He can take it, and He already knows and understands. I am never alone or without hope when I realise that Jesus is with me 🙌🏼😊☀️
