“But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.” James 1:4 AMPC
On our list of things we want the most, I’m sure endurance and patience don’t figure much, and yet they are essential for our development. To endure is to remain in existence, to be patient is to tolerate delays, problems or suffering. If you have done any studying or training for a qualification, you’ll know that some things just take the time that they take. You can’t fast track your way to becoming a doctor for example, you’ll need endurance and patience, and it’s the same in our journey of faith. God is training us, developing us for His eternal appointment, so let’s not give up on Him, or on faith, because we encounter some difficult and testing times along the way. As one preacher says, ‘God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.’ So Lord, help me to understand the training process I am on, fill me with Your Holy Spirit power to give me the staying power, so that I might be qualified for all you have called me to. Amen 🙌🏼😊
