“But those who wait for the LORD [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power…” Isaiah 40:31 AMP
Waiting was never meant to be a passive activity, it’s meant to be active. One of the first jobs I ever had was as a waiter, and the job description wasn’t to stand around waiting for something to happen. If that was the case it would have been very boring, and I would have been asking when is this shift going to end? To be an effective waiter means to pay attention, to be alert to what the customer needs and to be willing and ready to serve. Waiting on God, waiting on His Word, waiting on His promise means seeking His will, it means positioning myself to hear Him, with an expectation to receive His Word and to follow His lead, especially when the way looks dark and the storms are raging, that is the time to anchor myself to Jesus, not walk away from Him. Lord, in the busyness and stress of the day help me to remember to wait on You, to expect, look for and hope in You. Thank You for the spiritual strength I can receive as I trust in You. Amen 🙌🏼☀️
