“He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.” 2 Corinthians 5:15 NLT
This is such a challenging verse! What does it mean to no longer live for yourself but to live for Christ? How is that even possible when I still have to make so many decisions every day that revolve around me? Paul talks in this chapter about Christ’s love controlling us, that we have been given a wonderful message of reconciliation and that we are His ambassadors. This is what it means to live for Jesus, our eyes on Him, making decisions based on what God wants us to do, and getting His message out through our words and actions. Our reason for living has now changed, not to make a name for myself but to make Him known, to share His love, to see other people reconciled! Challenging? Yes! Worth it? Absolutely! Lord, show me more of what it means to no longer live for me but to live for You, and use me for Your glorious purposes, even today. Amen 🙏🏼
