This invitation was a message from Jesus to the believers in Laodicea. It was an affluent area, and the church had become self-reliant, self-righteous, and indifferent, and seemed to be blind to the desperate state they were actually in, functioning without that close, intimate relationship with God! How shocking for Jesus to be on the outside knocking to come in? And yet how amazing that He still seeks that friendship with us, if only we would take the time to listen, to open the door and spend some time with Him! Lord, save me from self-sufficiency, I need You so much, thank You for not giving up on me and for making Yourself available to me, may You find my life open to You today. Amen 🙏🏼
