When I am in distress // 05-10-21

“But as for me, I will sing about your power. Each morning I will sing with joy about your unfailing love. For you have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress.” Psalms‬ ‭59:16‬ ‭NLT

‬‬This coming Sunday is, ‘World Mental Health Day,’ a day to raise awareness of mental health issues! In the run up to Sunday I’m going to share some verses highlighting the hope we can get from our relationship with God – Hope and help that we can then point to and provide for others who are struggling. Here in Psalms it’s not a case of if I am in distress, but when! In the UK 1 in 4 people will suffer a mental health problem every year. We may not all get mentally ill to the point of needing treatment, but we all know the pain of mental distress. Thank God that He is our refuge, a safe place to run to, a very present help, always there to talk to and pour our hearts out to. Singing is so beneficial, so whether that is in your shower, in the car, or wherever, get the praise music on, however you are feeling, and be reminded of His unfailing love, let the joy of the Lord calm and strengthen your heart today 🙌🏼
