“Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]” John 14:27 AMP
In the run up to World Mental Health Day on Sunday, I’m sharing verses that highlight the hope and help we get from relationship with God. Jesus says that when we encounter troubling or anxiety inducing situations we don’t have to respond in a negative way. Trusting in His presence and knowing He always has a plan, and will always make a way, brings a peace that I wouldn’t have if I was facing things alone, and trying to work things out on my own! My faith in Him and the peace He gives me, provides encouragement and strength when I might otherwise crumble! Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it. Trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will, so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen 🙏🏼
