“For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energising, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 AMP
I read this quote a while back that has stuck with me, ‘The Bible is to decide what is right in our minds, not our minds to decide what is right in the Bible!’ This book (not one, but sixty-six in total), has sold more than any other, it has been translated more than any other, and has also had a greater influence on language, culture, law, education, art, literature and civilization, than any other! It has a proven track record, has stood the test of time, and continues to inspire and transform those with a desire to know God. But it also continues to challenge and cause controversy, like it always has done, because it does expose our hearts, the error of our ways, and many do not like to be told that they are wrong. “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Psalms 139:23-24 NLT
As I open my Bible today with a desire to learn, would You speak to me, correct me, train me, equip me, change me, and lead me in Your ways. Amen 🙏🏼
