“When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 NLT
Good morning all, it’s a new week, and I’m continuing with this important focus on what it means to grow in relationship with God, to grow in fruitfulness! Growing up takes us from childhood to adulthood, from immaturity to maturity. Yes, God wants us to understand who we are as His children, to know we are loved and cherished. It’s important that we have a healthy childhood, spiritually speaking, and it’s right that we stay childlike, when it comes to trusting Him. But we are not called to stay childish (just concerned with my own needs and wants, and throwing a tantrum if I think something isn’t fair from my very limited perspective – I spent time with my three little grandkids this weekend so this is fresh in my mind, lol). God wants us to grow in maturity, in being able to see things His way, so that we can be Christians who take seriously the responsibilities of His Kingdom. Lord, would you continue to GROW me up as I Get praying, Read my Bible, Own my place in Your family, and Worship You! Thank You that I will always be Your much loved child, but help me to put away childish things and to increasingly speak, think, reason, and behave as someone who knows who they are in Christ! Amen 🙏🏼
