So much we experience in life is outside our control, whether it’s an unexpected health issue, or like today, waking up to weather that has closed schools and is causing power failures. We might think we are in charge of our lives, but the reality is that we control very little really! In this story of a storm, the disciples are panicking, they think they’re going to drown and Jesus is asleep at the back of the boat!! They wake him with the words, ‘Don’t you care?’ But Jesus is the One who takes control and his question to them is, ‘Why are you afraid?’ Storms will show up the state of our faith in God, do we panic and abandon all hope, or will we trust Jesus? No storm is wasted when it causes us to turn to Him. Lord, thank You for Your reassuring and calming presence in my life, help me to respond in faith rather than fear whatever today and this coming week brings. Amen 🙏🏼
