“Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.” Colossians 3:16-17 NLT
In the late 1800’s there was a phrase that became popular in Christian circles after a book was published by a man called Charles Sheldon, entitled, ‘In His steps: What would Jesus do?’ In the 1990’s it had a resurgence with the initials WWJD on wristbands, the point being to always think about what Jesus would say or how He would act in any situation or conversation I find myself in, so that His message would be seen and heard. As a Christian, I represent Him every time I open my mouth, every time I make a choice, every time I do anything. The challenge for me is am I truly re-presenting Him? Do I present how Jesus would present? Do people encounter Jesus when they interact with me? Do I live with that same love and compassion that He has? Does my life encourage others to seek God for
themselves? Do they see the evidence of Christ in me, the hope of Glory? Lord, may my life be filled with Your message, in all its richness, my heart’s posture be to worship, my mind alert to Your wisdom, that I might represent You well today. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
