“The Lord turned to him and said, ‘Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?’” Judges 6:14 NIVUK
Gideon, did not see himself as a mighty warrior, all he saw were the negative facts of his situation, and he poured out his complaint, and asked the questions that many people ask, ‘If God is with us, then why has all this happened to us? Why isn’t He doing something? Why do I feel abandoned?’ The response he gets is so interesting though, ‘Go in the strength you have…Am I not sending you?’ In other words, Gideon I want to use you as the solution, you as the answer to people’s prayers, you to show my presence and power, you to go meet the need, you to defeat the enemy, you to be my mouthpiece and my physical hands and feet…Go! It doesn’t matter how weak you might feel, the strength you have is enough, because I will be with you! God is always looking for those who are willing to partner with Him to see His purposes fulfilled, that’s how He designed it to be. If God can use the very flawed Gideon, then maybe He can use me too with all my limitations? Question is, am I willing to be part of the solution to the things that trouble this world? Am I willing to have my life interrupted in order to go do the things God has planned for me? Lord, in my struggle between comfort and calling, help me, like Gideon, to trust You, to live as one who is sent, to believe that I can do anything through Christ who strengthens me. Amen 🙏🏼❤️
