“…you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9 NLT
Go read yesterday’s text again because this is a continuation on the same theme! To be a Christian is not just about having head knowledge of Jesus and saying I believe it, it’s answering the call to go, to follow Him, to live as one who is sent, to be holy, set apart for God’s purpose, an example of His goodness, light in the darkness! It is coming under the Kingship of Jesus, willing to do His will and walk in His ways over and above just doing what seems right in my own eyes. There will always be a conflict between comfort and calling, and there will always be the temptation to fit into our culture, embracing the values of the world we are in, which is where Israel went so wrong so many times, and it never led them anywhere good ultimately, and always away from God’s promise! Lord, thank You for the high calling You have placed on my life, and the high price You paid to save me. I don’t want to take Your grace for granted, and I so want to live to help others find their salvation and true home in You! Forgive me for the times I have chosen comfort over calling, myself over being a living sacrifice. Would You use my life to point people to Your life as I answer Your call to go. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
