“In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. From deep in the realm of the dead I called for help, and you listened to my cry.” Jonah 2:2 NIV
Isn’t that amazing? The patience of God, the unfailing grace of God, that even after the running away, the dereliction of duty, and now finding himself in the belly of a fish, unable to make things right, and no good for anything, God is still right there listening and answering? When you find yourself at rock bottom, God is always there waiting. Now we still have a choice, even there, we can choose to just give up or we can make that turnaround to God and trust Him to restore us, Jonah thinks he’s as good as dead, no way out, but here’s what he prays, “But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’” And the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.” Jonah 2:9-10 NIV
Thank You Lord, that no situation is impossible for You to redeem, nowhere I might find myself that You cannot make a way back. Help me to remember the truth of those words that Salvation only comes from You. Like Jonah, get me to the place You need me to be, and to the people who so need to hear the truth of those words too. Amen 🙏🏼😊
