“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17-19 NLT
If you were to write your own verse 17, what would be your ‘even though…’? What is your go to complaint right now? What are the circumstances that are frustrating and upsetting you? Hold that thought, now read verse 18 again, “…yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in the God of my salvation.” This is what helps us rise instead of getting dragged down, it’s only Jesus who strengthens us and makes our steps sure, as we fix our thoughts and prayers and thanks on Him! Every time my mind turns to things that are stressful and worrying and upsetting, I’m going to speak out verse 18, it’s a reminder to go joy hunting, and it’s a game changer! Lord thank you for the power of Your Word, I choose to rejoice in You today. Amen
