The beginning of this Psalm finds David in turmoil, feeling abandoned, ignored, overwhelmed and defeated! He doesn’t shy away from asking God some difficult questions; he presents his requests as honestly and desperately as he can, but then we come to these two verses and it’s such a change of focus! Yes we need to acknowledge how things are in the moment, but let’s not get stuck there. Like David, let’s remember who our faith is in, what we know and trust about God, remind ourselves of what He has already done for us, and set about the task of rejoicing! It is not hypocritical to praise Him when I’m feeling down and out, it might just be the way to getting up and in! Lord, thank You that no matter how I feel at times Your promise is true and Your Word still stands! Help me to find my joy in You, and may it overflow through me to other people who need some strength today. Amen 💔❤️❤️🔥
