“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT
These verses have been life to me over the years, the whole notion of God’s grace (gifting me what I don’t deserve, Jesus doing for me what I could never do for myself) has been setting me free from a tendency to try and earn God’s approval, helping me understand the incredible love He has for me, and the innate value and purpose that He has placed on my life! The only way we get to know and do the good things He planned for us, is to get to know Him more! My job isn’t to try harder, to make myself more acceptable, to get busier, it’s to believe in Him: to trust in, cling to and rely on Jesus, to call on His name, to draw near to Him, and to learn from Him. Lord, help me to live in the light of Your grace today that I might let go more and let You lead. Give me the courage to follow, to discover more of the masterpiece You made me to be, and to walk more steadily in Your ways. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
