“Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.”” Luke 1:38 NLT
When Mary was first visited by the angel and told that she was favoured and that God was with her, we read that she was ‘confused and disturbed!’ So many of us feel like that initially when we encounter Him, because He sees us differently to how we so often see ourselves! Oh that we would realise how favoured we are and how close God really is to us! But this plan did not sound like the life Mary imagined for herself, and the God-given adventure that lay before her I’m sure sounded uncertain and risky. But God’s first Word to her was, ‘Don’t be afraid!’ It was a challenge to trust Him, to be part of His amazing plan, and Mary’s response was everything I want mine to be too, ‘I am Your servant. May everything you say about me come true!’ Oh to live in the light of who God says I am and to fulfil His good works that He planned in advance for me to do; to know that my life has value and purpose beyond just trying to survive. Lord, would You move me from fear to faith, from, ‘Why me God?’ to, ‘Here I am God!’ From feeling slow and sluggish in the waiting, to being adventurously expectant and excited for what is coming next! Thank You that I CAN trust You. Amen 🙌🏼❤️🔥
