“Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?”” Romans 15:1-2 MSG
Life is full of valleys as well as mountaintops, and we are not all in the same place at the same time due to our differing circumstances and situations. Some of us will be feeling on top of the world and excited by what lies ahead, at the same time as others are struggling to see past today! It’s one of the reasons why church is so important and why we need each other so much; those who are stronger and more able in the moment encouraging and supporting those who are faltering. It will be the other way round on another occasion! For those who are feeling strong in faith right now, who needs your help? Who can you get alongside? Who can you encourage and pray for, or reach out to in a practical way? Lord, thank You for the greatest example You gave us, that though You were God You didn’t cling on to Your status or divine privilege but humbled yourself and came close to us, to be that very present help, and ultimately to save us when we couldn’t save ourselves. It’s what we are remembering right now in this time of Advent. May my life be characterised by Yours Jesus. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
