“Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, ‘My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God’? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no-one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:27-31 NIVUK
It’s a longer piece of Scripture today but I woke up with the sense that I needed to start the day fighting in prayer! The song that came to mind was ‘Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord…’ taken from this passage in Isaiah. For all those who are feeling under the weather right now, only seeing the dark clouds and feeling the force of the rain, it’s a good reminder that above the clouds the sun is still shining! Lord, as we wait on You, as we look to you today would you cause us to rise up above the weather! Thank You that our situations are not hidden from You or disregarded by You, that You are the everlasting God, You see the bigger picture and You give strength to the weary and power to the weak! I choose to put my hope in You Jesus, to wait on You, to trust in You, and as I do would You enable me to soar like an eagle, no mad flapping in panic that I might fall, but strengthened and lifted as I stretch out my wings and catch the wind of Your Spirit. Lord, help me to see beyond the clouds and to rest in the light of Your love today. Amen 🌤️❤️
