“Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].” Colossians 3:15 AMP
With the temperature at -8 this morning, strikes happening on a daily basis, energy prices soaring, cost of food rising, viruses running rampant, there is a lot to legitimately worry about and complain about in the here and now! This verse though suggests that rather than difficult circumstances controlling our hearts and impacting our emotions and reactions, as Christians we can experience an inner calm, peace that comes from walking daily with Jesus! Lord, may I be alert to Your presence today, trusting that You can and will provide everything that I truly need. Help me to focus on all that I can be thankful for, and may that inner calm that comes from being in close relationship with You be a real testimony, shining light and hope to those who are feeling overwhelmed by the darkness right now. Amen 🙏🏼❤️
