Someone once said “humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.” Humility does not mean that you hate who you are or what you look like, it does not mean believing you are worthless or have a low opinion of yourself, it’s about where your focus is? Pride looks to self, is consumed by self, and says I am in charge of me, I am God! This can lead to either arrogance (how great am I compared to others) or anxiety (how incapable am I compared to others). Humility is acknowledging I am not God! It’s looking to Him for guidance and direction, understanding my true value in Him without the need to compete or compare or control. It’s believing God knows me better than I know myself, and as I humble myself, see myself as under His care, as part of His powerful plan, He is capable of taking me where He needs me to be, for the honour of His name! Lord, as I look to You today, help me to understand afresh how loved I really am, and the immense value You have instilled in me! Deliver me from any pride that would meet with your opposition, and instead, help me to humble myself that I would know Your divine promotion! Amen 🙏🏼😊
