“I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.” Job 42:5 NLT
There is such a difference between knowing about God and actually knowing Him! Our thoughts about Him often fall far short of who He really is and what He is like when it comes to understanding His character, His great power, His amazing love, and His perfect plan for us and this world. We have such a limited viewpoint from where we are, skewed by our circumstances and experiences in life, and yet we often think that we know better than God, or we think we are God! In the last few chapters of Job, God challenges this perspective (go read Job 38-41), and reveals the power and wisdom shown in His oversight of creation, and Job’s response is one of humility and repentance. And this becomes such a turning point for Job in the most amazing of ways! Father God, I don’t just want to hear about You, or have an opinion on You, I truly want to know You! Open my eyes to see You today that I might grow in my knowledge and understanding of who You really are, with a hunger to know You more and to follow Your ways. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
