“Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, Moses didn’t give you bread from heaven. My Father did. And now he offers you the true bread from heaven. Jesus made seven ‘I am’ statements recorded in the gospel of John, not just sharing, ‘His truth’ but stating The Truth! I want to highlight them in the run up to Good Friday! The first is about being bread, food that sustains us and fuels us and strengthens us. Jesus said that only God can give us what we truly need for living an abundant life, and we receive all that we need as we receive Jesus Himself! Lord, thank You for Your Word that feeds me and grows me, thank You for Your love and grace that protects me, I need You every single day to be my closest companion (that word literally means: together with bread; the one who shares bread with another). Keep me strong in faith and purpose and mission as I spend time with You and walk with You this week. Amen 🍞🙏🏼
