“Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord [with reverent awe and obedience] and turn [entirely] away from evil. It will be health to your body [your marrow, your nerves, your sinews, your muscles—all your inner parts] And refreshment (physical well-being) to your bones.” Proverbs 3:7-8 AMP
These verses follow on from yesterday’s, repeating the idea of not relying on your own understanding! Where then do we find wisdom beyond our own? The author here, Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, points us to God, that as we look with awe upon Him and are obedient to His Word, that it leads to well-being in ways beyond our understanding! And of course it does, because God desires relationship with us, it’s how we were designed to function best. Communicating with Him in prayer, reading the Bible to get to know Jesus better, with an intent to do what He says, will always build that relationship, and a healthy spiritual life will impact every other area of our lives too. Lord, I want to know You more, please speak to me, fill me, heal me, restore me, refresh me, and lead me as I seek You, believe You, and put my trust in You today. Save me from just trusting that my own wisdom and insight is enough. Amen 👆🏼🙏🏼
