“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:6-7 NLT
The second Sunday of Advent is coming up with a focus on peace! Experiencing God’s peace is not a case of circumstances having to be perfect with an absence of noise and tough situations and challenges. Experiencing God’s peace comes when we actually know His presence despite the worries and needs we encounter, realising that He has got us and we can trust in Him! His presence with us is what brings us peace (spiritual well-being that calms and guards our hearts and minds). In the book of Matthew he reminds us of an Old Testament prophecy regarding the coming Messiah, “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.'” Matthew 1:23 NLT
Lord, thank You for keeping Your promise, thank you that You are present with me today, for the reminder this Advent that You came to us! Thank You that I don’t need to worry about anything when I know You love me, and are for me and with me. Thank You for the peace that comes from knowing my life is in Your hands. Jesus, Help me to trust You even more today. Amen 👆🏼🙏🏼
