“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to follow Me [as My disciple], he must deny himself [set aside selfish interests], and take up his cross [expressing a willingness to endure whatever may come] and follow Me [believing in Me, conforming to My example in living and, if need be, suffering or perhaps dying because of faith in Me].” Matthew 16:24 AMP
I read a blog this week that said, ‘Are we truly seeking a life with God? Or are we simply trying to use Him? Is our allegiance to Christ and His Kingdom? Or is “Christian” simply a label we identify with but with no real impact on our lives or behaviours?’ Consumer Christianity is a poor substitute for the real thing! Jesus’ words challenge our comfort and will stretch us as we take them seriously, but becoming like Him is always worth it, for ourselves and also for the benefit of others! So don’t just attend church for what’s in it for me, instead, get planted in and commit to His Kingdom agenda! That’s where God can change me and when He can use me the most 🙌🏼😊
