“When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You. In God, whose word I praise; In God I have put my trust; I shall not fear. What can mere man do to me?” Psalms 56:3-4 AMP
David wrote this Psalm when he had been seized by the Philistines. He was definitely in trouble, and note that he says, ‘When I am afraid…’ just because he made these amazing declarations of trust in God it didn’t stop fear coming for him, but his response, as he turned to God was, ‘I shall not fear…’ You can feel afraid but still determine that fear is not going to have the last word. Fear is not a signal that God has lost control and that He has abandoned you, it is an alert to put your trust and faith in Him even more! David wrote things down, he reminded himself of God’s promises and he lifted his voice in praise! Lord, when troubles come and when I feel afraid, help me to remember Your goodness and faithfulness, to read Your Word and to lift my voice in praise as an act of my trust and faith in You. Thank You for the promise of Your reassuring presence with me always. Amen 🙌🏼😊
