“The Lord says, “Bethlehem Ephrathah, you are one of the smallest towns in Judah, but out of you I will bring a ruler for Israel, whose family line goes back to ancient times.” So the Lord will abandon his people to their enemies until the woman who is to give birth has her son.” Micah 5:2-3 GNT
This prophecy was written over 400 years before Jesus finally arrived and yet God’s promise was fulfilled! Now I don’t like waiting, I want my prayers answered instantly, but faith often requires patience. Trusting in God always involves trusting in His timing, so just because things don’t change or happen immediately, that is not a reason to stop praying or to stop hoping with expectation. Advent reminds us that we are in a time of waiting, but that’s ok! God is still working His plans out and He is coming back!
O little town of Bethlehem how still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight 🙏🏼
