“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT
It is so easy to get fixated on our troubles and on the horror stories coming out in the news and believe all hope is lost! This verse isn’t telling us to ignore the troubles, or to turn a blind eye, or to pretend things are ok when they so obviously aren’t. But it is warning us that if we only do that then our perspective will be skewed. If we want our faith and hope to still thrive in the light of our troubles then we need to fix our gaze elsewhere, not on this realm, but on the Kingdom of God, on that which is going to last beyond this world, on Jesus! It is good to pray, it is good to gather and pray with others, let’s do all we can to gain and keep that heavenly viewpoint. Amen? 🙏🏼💪🏼
