“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts.” Colossians 3:12-15 NLT
To ‘clothe yourselves’ means to put these things on, to practice them, let them be what people see on you! As Christians we are called to be holy, set apart for God’s purposes, that means we respond differently to how the world reacts, that we follow the example of Jesus, trusting in God’s sovereignty and justice, that He will make all things right, and in the meantime I can just get on with showing mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and love. Lord, in a world where so much is wrong, give me the supernatural strength I need to stand for what is right, to love mercy, to act justly, and to walk humbly with You my God. And as I do, may the peace that comes from knowing You and being like You Jesus, truly rule in me today. Amen 💔❤️❤️🔥
