“And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshipped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’” Matthew 14:32-33 NIV
This is the end of the account, when the disciples are out on a boat in storm and they see Jesus walking on water and Peter gets out of the boat and for a moment, with his eyes on Jesus, he walks on the water too, before the wind and waves distract him and he starts to sink, but Jesus is right there to pull him up, asking, ‘Where is you faith?’ And as they get back into the boat the disciples worship him, they’ve had a new revelation of who He actually is, of His awesome power! That word worship is the Greek word, ‘Proscuneo’ meaning to kiss towards, like a dog licking his masters hand, an act of profound reverence and submission! We’ve got a great dog boarding with us right now who just loves to do this, to get close, to sit at your feet, and nuzzle into your hand. He is very obedient and it creates a lot of peace, and it reminded me of this greek word, ‘Proscuneo!’ Lord, within the storms that are breaking around us right now, may we see You, may we know Your saving presence and get that refresh revelation of who You are, and may our hearts turn to worship, knowing the peace that comes from reverencing, submitting to and obeying You, our Master! Lead me today I pray. Amen 🙌🏼❤️
