“Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees. Then he said to his servant, “Go and look out toward the sea.” The servant went and looked, then returned to Elijah and said, “I didn’t see anything.” Seven times Elijah told him to go and look. Finally the seventh time, his servant told him, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” 1 Kings 18:42-44 NLT
For three years it hadn’t rained! Elijah prayed and he waited, even as his servant returned again and again with news that nothing was happening he persisted in his expectation, and then the report changed, a little cloud no bigger than a man’s hand! It wasn’t the rainstorm yet, but for Elijah it was enough to get him active! Is there something that you have been praying for again and again with seemingly no change? I’m challenged right now to keep praying, but not just to pray, but to go look for the answer, to be expectant, and not disheartened when it looks like just a puff of cloud. Lord, help me to be prayerful, watchful, and faithful as I wait on You. And as the atmosphere begins to change, stir me, like Elijah, to action. Amen 🙏🏼🌧️
