“On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.” Acts 2:1-2 NLT
Jesus had told His disciples not to leave Jerusalem until the Father had sent the gift He had promised them – the Holy Spirit! So they waited, not passively, but actively, meeting together, constantly united in prayer. Those 10 days probably felt like forever, ‘Why are you taking so long Lord?’ And yet we read that ‘suddenly’ God showed up! Today is a reminder that God is not slow in keeping His promises even if it feels like it at times. He is always right on time at exactly the right time, according to His plan, so whatever it is you are waiting for, don’t lose heart, get prayerfully active in the waiting, press in to Jesus, and get ready for the suddenly! 👆🏼🙏🏼
