When a young David faced the giant, Goliath, from a human perspective he didn’t stand a chance! Goliath had the advantage of height, strength, weaponry, armour, and experience of battle. He had invoked fear and anxiety by his threats and taunts that had left the Israelite army paralysed. But David saw things very differently, his confidence was not in any attempt to match Goliath’s power, but in His knowledge and love of God! David knew that it wasn’t the words and actions of the enemy that would determine the outcome that day, but an enacting of his faith in the Lord of heavens armies! So in just his tunic and with a few small stones and a sling he went into battle, proclaiming the name of Lord Almighty, and Goliath was slain! What giant is taunting and threatening you today? What is keeping you paralysed and unable to move forward? It’s time to put your faith in God into action, to stand up to the bully who is defying God and His plan for your life! It’s time to believe that the outcome isn’t determined by the size of the problem but by the One whose very name means the Lord who saves – Jesus! Let’s fix our eyes on Him and let’s go slay some giants today! Amen? 👆🏼🙏🏼
